SUKIYA
Hi guys!!!! Do you like Japanese food? Do you ever heard about Sukiya? Let me tell you about one of Japanese food that is famous in Malacca besides Sushi King. Sukiya is a Japanese restaurant chain serving gyūdon, other donburi, and curry. Its slogan (printed in romaji outside the restaurant) is "save time and money". According to the publicity printed in English on the walls of the restaurant, it originated in Yokohama. Unlike Yoshinoya, Sukiya did not stop serving gyudon during the ban on American beef imports, instead switching to beef imported from Australia.

Gyudon
(beef bowl) is a popular Japanese dish consisting of rice with beef and onion
which are simmered in a sweet, mild sauce. The sauce consists of dashi, soy
sauce and mirin (sweet rice wine). Beef bowls are commonly served with pickled
ginger and ground pepper. The name Gyudon comes from the Japanese words gyu
(cow) and don (short for donburi, bowl).
